About Jeff
Jeff has had some sort of camera in his hands for as long as he can remember. It all started with his father’s Polaroid SX-70. At 12 Jeff used to borrow his parent’s 8mm film camera and produce stop frame animations with his brother. He learned to edit the movies with scissors and tape. He got his first 35mm camera (Pentax K-1000) when he was in middle school. Jeff’s college years were spent studying documentary production and audio production, but a still camera was never out of reach. He graduated in 1990 and landed work as a commercial video editor. It wasn’t long before he was involved in every facet of production from lighting and set design, animation and graphics to producing and directing television programs and film. He was nominated for the prestigious Emmy Award and Ace award. True he didn’t win, but one of five nominees in 10,000 isn’t bad. Jeff worked in TV for 10 years, all the while snapping stills as a therapeutic release from “moving pictures.” He left the frantic paced world of TV and film production in 1999 when his wife gave birth to their son. His work since has focused on the moment rather than the event. Take a look around the site, sign the guest book or drop Jeff an email, he'd love to hear what you think.jeff@mckeeweb.net
